Love * Life * More

Chip Franks believes the world has enough people grinding through their days without joy. What it needs more of are Joyful Savages — people who’ve done the work to genuinely love being alive, even in hard seasons. After a stroke at 45 left him broken and depressed, Chip rebuilt his brain through a gratitude practice so systematic and neurologically grounded that it became something others could replicate. He’s now on a mission to help high performers transform from success without satisfaction to lives fully savored. Through The Joyful Savage Movement and the A-OK a Day Foundation, Chip is building a cultural shift — one where gratitude isn’t fluffy, it’s fierce. Chip has been endorsed by Hal Elrod (author of The Miracle Morning), James Altucher (author of Choose Yourself), and Emily Fletcher (founder of Ziva Meditation). He lives in Texas with his family.

❤️👍 Blessings on a sad day

Howdy Reader, So today, I had to say goodbye to two Heroes at our school. It's always a sad thing and absolutely the worst part about owning and running a school. We get so attached to these wonderful little human beings. We see their potential. We want the best for them. We see their growth. And then we see them leave. It hurts, and I am very sad today. Something that I think about with these, and it's taught in my courses on JOY...Is that JOY can encompass sadness. It's greater than that. Joy...

Howdy again Reader! It's Monday, Columbus Day, and I worked today to get the school all ready. I'm home, I still have a few things to prepare for the week...So here are some QUICK BLESSINGS! I'm grateful for the ability to read and learn from other people's stories. Biographies can be so powerful...we get to see some of ourselves in them and can see the magic of possibility laid a little more bare for us. I'm currently listening to and reading "Elon Musk," by Walter Isaacson...and I'm...

HowdyReader! Our vacation is ending today, and I’ll be sending these out regularly this week. I wanted to get some Blessings out to you, to hopefully help your day. Please think of these for you, and if you’re so inclined—make a list of your own! Here are the BLESSINGS: My son is so affectionate and gives me hugs often, he wants to hold me a lot, and will sneak a little beso (kiss) on an available arm, or back when he can. I’ve been feeling his love this week a lot, and it’s such a blessing....

Howdy again Reader! I’m writing these blessings from vacation and once again on my phone, as I didn’t bring my computer, on purpose! We have an amazing room, with a view of the jungle, a river, and Puerto Vallarta Bay, which lights up at night to give us nighttime views to go along with what I’m seeing now. It’s just amazing. I love these moments and just occasionally feel…inadequate…to have all of the blessings I do. That’s something I need to work on, as we can all feel like we deserve what...

Howdy Reader! Here are some quick Blessings from my phone at the Dallas Airport on our way to the last big family vacation as the fabulous Franks Five…as Mandy is getting married in March. About to take to the air! Here are the BLESSINGS! All of the minor miracles that happen each day. The airplanes that all land safely, the car accidents that don’t happen. The billions of peaceful interactions between humans. Just amazing. Water fountains. I got really hydrated before this flight. Vacation...

Howdy Reader! It's late in the day, and I want to get this little piece of (hopefully) love, joy, and blessings out to you--please use it to count your own blessings!Let's get right to it! Being able to get stuff done--to design the things we want and need to do, to organize them, and actually take action to get them done. It feels so good to "check them off" of the list. I did a little of that today. Recipes online. My wife is making "Marry Me," chicken right now...it's about to be done and...

Howdy, beautiful Reader! I wanted to share a story, and an insight I had last night--And maybe it will mean something to you. Last night while walking at night with no phone, just clearing out my head, I had a thought that brought a lot more joy and gratitude to my (admittedly already joyful and gracious life). After my stroke, over 6 years ago, I was in a really bad, acute depression. I talked a little about it in my video to help others conquer depression...but I did not want to be alive...

Howdy Reader! It's Monday. And the last time I wrote you, I said that I'd have the setup for The God Bookend Training done...and...I hate to say it, but I don't. That means that I lied. I think I shouldn't have made a rash promise, as one, there is more to it than I thought that there was-- And two, the more important, is that I do this with the care and attention that it deserves. To have put it out on Saturday before it was ready would be an even worse disservice to you. So--that will be...

Howdy Reader, you beautiful, wonderful soul--Even if you don't believe it about yourself...I promise that it's true. I'm up extremely early this morning, on my day "off" from being a Guide in my schoo to being the owner and working ON the the school. So lots of fun with payment programs, accountant questions, learning design (I actually like that one). But when I don't HAVE to get up early...I often wake up early. And the calm hours before the sun rises, when everything is quiet, and it's me...

Howdy Reader! It was a pretty big day for us as we had Alec tested for a few things (nothing medically serious). My wife and I went and it was wonderful to be with her, even if we were just sitting in the waiting room or our car. Let's get to the BLESSINGS! The healing power and innate intelligence of our bodies. I've probably mentioned this one before--but it is just amazing how our bodies know how to take our energy from food and translate that to new cells and ways of operating. That's...
